Next Adventure Births

postpartum doula and birth doula nyc

Hi, I’m Jessica Martin!

As a mother, I know having a baby is both exciting and incredibly overwhelming. I'm here to help you navigate this next adventure with information, mindfulness, and an extra set of hands when you need it most.

After a disempowering birth and lonely postpartum, I was invited to take a doula training by a friend and doula. What began as a curiosity to understand my own transition into parenthood quickly grew into a passion for helping busy New Yorkers slow down and bring more mindfulness and intention to how they want to experience and show up for their birth and beyond.

As a birth, postpartum, and return-to-work doula, I'm practical, calm, and education focused. Helping you prepare your body, mind, and relationships for a new baby is a key focus of my practice. I enjoy helping my clients articulate their values and make informed choices that align with those values as they navigate birth and postpartum.

My goal is to support you in creating the most joyful and empowering experience you can have. So you can ease into your next adventure as a parent with confidence and pride!

I am honored to support all birthing people—first time parents, multiples parents, single parents, solo parents, VBAC clients, LGBTQ+ families, home births, inductions, and planned cesareans.

“Jessica was amazing with my baby. She was able to feed her, change her, put her down for naps and I fully trusted her to handle the baby. She was super helpful in that she prepared meals for us and cooked really healthy and delicious foods. I told her what I liked and she came up with recipes and they were all really good. She also helped around the house in terms of folding laundry and organizing, like Marie Kondo level stuff. It was amazing and I’m really going to miss it. I highly recommend Jessica!

“From our first virtual meeting we felt comfortable with and trusting of Jess. If it weren’t for Jess we would have strayed from our birth wishes. She helped empower us to question things and to speak up. We are so grateful for that. We are so lucky to have worked with Jess.”
